I have found that some companies (especially fast food and take-out ones) offer a seven digit (no area code) contact number that is somehow automatically routed to the nearest of their locations even though this same number is used in many cities. This works just fine with any land based phone line and even with a cellphone but, since all Vonage calls must, I believe, clear through some central location, this redirect to the nearest location to the caller does not take place. Any tricks or tweaks to make this occur correctly, or do I still have to use a cellphone to order Pizza? Thanks. |

There was a thread on this in the Vonage Canada forum.
I am unsure if there is an equivalent dialing mechanism in the U.S., I have not encountered it. |

Ordering pizza over the phone... how quaint, and so 1990's...
Pizzahut.com or PapaJohns.com is all you need now in many places. |

Ask for the "local" number when you call your favorite pizza place. Even the white pages might provide this number, rather than the paid for advertising in the yellow pages. Here in South Jersey I have never come across that, but I can understand the simplicity of using a system like that. |
