my caller id time is correct, I have the RT31P2 adapter and I have it set to GMT -5 Eastern which is where I am (Kitchener) and when I check the router status page it shows the correct time +/- 2 or 3 minutes.. This is the time that shows up on my caller id..

Works fine for me.. Hopefully next time change it will be fine too..

I have the PAP2 adapter. There is no way to get into it to change anything so I reckon that the adapter is set to whatever time your web account is. This might be the problem as pointed out earlier in this thread by MarsGuy. The time setting on the web is (and this forum too by the way) is GMT -x which doesn't make sense as GMT is constant and doesn't change for daylight savings time. This is OK if you live in SK or somewhere else that doesn't observe daylight savings time but most of the country does. The time settings should be region specific (pacific, mountain, etc.) rather than GMT -x I realize that this was likely set this way as the service is designed to be portable however.

I recently heard that (SK) Saskatchewan is going to start observing daylight savings time. I could be wrong, but I think all provinces and territories in Canada now observe DST.

SK still doesn't observe DST. Check out the National Research Council Time Zone Page at http://time5.nrc.ca/webclock_e.shtml

The northeastern part of BC doesn't observe DST either, they are on Mountain Standard Time all year while most of BC is on Pacific Time and observes DST.

There is also a link to the NRCs NTP servers on this page.

I read in the news that they were going to start following the DST because of the fact it was messing up things when dealing with adjoining provinces and states. There was no time frame as to when they would switch to observing DST.

Personally, I wish we were on DST all year round. It is depressing when it starts getting dark at 4 PM in the winter. I would rather wake up in the dark and drive home when there is still some part of the day left.

Yep, I agree with you there.

Just to make things more interesting, the US is considering changing DST to begin in March and end in November as a fuel conservation measure. If they adopt this, we'll likely change with them to keep the time alignment. The complication here is that time observance is determined at the provincial level in Canada.

You might remember that in 1988, the change day to DST was changed from the last Sunday in April to the first Sunday in April.

Yes I do remember that change and I am glad that they did it.

Having them extend DST longer is fine by me! Some people run into serious side effects when the time changes to STD. Depression sometimes sets in with the lack of sunshine.

We were thinking about it. The government decided against it, at least for now, so we're still on CST rather than CDT like Manitoba.

Isn't it because SK straddles 2 timezones (Just west of Moose Jaw), so they decided to keep the whole province in 1 zone?

Pretty much. Western Saskatchewan is technically in the Mountain zone. Eastern Saskatchewan is Central. Instead of having half of us on MST/MDT and half on CST/CDT, they decided to put the whole province on CST year-round.
