I'm using the Vonage service last 3-4 months. The problem I'm facing is the delay in the ringer on the incoming calls.
If some one calls my number, the caller will hear several rings, but my end (receiver) hear only one or two. By the time the caller may hang up. I power recycled the router. Disconnect the expansion unit and checked again, still the same problem. I got several complaints from my friends and relatives not to answer the phone. I also checked several times calling from the cell phone and notices the same issue. I tried several times to contact the Vonage customer service, holding the phone for several minutes, but no luck. Sad
Called the phone manufacturer and said, they can't do anything and nothing wrong with the phone. Then they said you need to check with Vonage and check the compatibility of the phone.

If any one know what is the cause of this issue?
I'm greatly appreciated if someone respond this issue.
Router using : RT31P2
Phone using : Motorola MD490 expansion unit.

when it finally does ring, is it a normal, full ring? what happens if you pick up the phone a few rings into it (i.e. call from cell phone, let it ring a few times, then pick up Vonage phone before it actually starts ringing)?
a few people have had an issue with a weak ring, which is corrected by Vonage upping the voltage output on the device. doesn't really sound like your issue, but who knows. and be prepared for more than a few minutes. plan on a few hours and be happy if it's less.

Yes, it is a normal full ring. After two rings, it stops for few seconds (approx.15-20 seconds) then it rings again couple more then stops. Some times it won't ring, we pickuped the phone while the display light on during the incoming call.

ok, that actually does sound more like the same problem others (including myself) have had. give them a call and have them raise the output voltage.

Finally I got the customer service person on line, and fixed the issue. He max the ring voltage and increase power output level plus some downloads and power recyle on the router.
Now it is working fine.
