I have a RT Linksys installed in my home. When I travel I want to be able to use a PAP2, (RT is too bulky to travel with) I called Vonage (low level support) and they told me that I could not use the PAP2.
I know the Mac address in the PAP has to be changed to read the same as the RT. When I travel I will have to disconnect the RT so there is no conflict. Can I spoof the PAP's MAC address to read the same as the RT? While I was away I tried to call Vonage to change the MAC address (PAP) to read the Mfg MAC address on their network and they were unwilling to do it. Once again they said it could not be done. They suggested a softphone.
Can two different Voip devices be used and still access the Vonage network if one of the devices is disconnected? How about the Mac addresses?
