I have a small network setup using several Linux boxes connected to a cable modem. The Linux boxes have dual IP's and are my route between the local (private) LAN and the cable modem (internet). Each one has a public IP for the internet and a private IP for the local LAN. I'd like to stick the RT31P2 between the cable modem and the Linux boxes to allow the QOS function to be used but when I do this, I cannot seem to get the RT31P2 configured such that I can get past it to the internet. All I need is for the RT31P2 to act as a conduit, I do not need DHCP or NAT services from it as these are provided by the existing servers. Any suggestions regarding: 1) If this is a valid setup or 2) The correct settings for the RT31P2 in this config
If you have multiple public IP's from your ISP as far as I know the RT31P does not support multiple Public IP's. As your network goes you should disable DHCP and NAT from your RT31P and it would just act as a switch.. For a more complex stup set a RIP in your network.
