Post subject: Problem with Linksys
Hey everyone,
I have been hosting my own web site and I had my Linksys unit set up on DMZ enabled to allow the ports on my main machine to be seen on the web so my web site would work. But I had the computer and stuff unplugged and turned off for about 2 weeks and for some weird reason or another when I hooked everything up and tried to start everything up again now my web site doesnt show up outside of the computer but if I use
http://localhost
I can see it fine but not at its normal address
http://www.planetradio.us
and I made sure the IP info on the domain was updated. Any idea to what I can do?

Make sure the server IP didnt change if you have it set DHCP on when you turn the server off and turn it back on it will lease a new IP depending on what boots first.. You better of making the IP in the server static that way your DMZ IP settings wont change.

Actually for some reason I got it working without even trying. I checked all the DMZ and port forward stuff and it was all correct and made sure my IP was okay and it was. So I turned off the server computer, unplugged the cable modem, unplugged the phone adapter/router, and switched the two computers to different ports on the router/phone adapter and turned everything back on in bingo it worked. Its weird how that happened but its all good now. Thanks!!
