I can't find a FAQ on this question so any help would be appreciated.
Here is my current setup
RT31P2:
WAN Cable going to LAN port on WRT54G
Set to Static IP on WAN to an ip on my local network. ie. 192.168.50.6
WRT54G:
Existing router I had, no changes made.
My voice status page shows Online, and idle for the ports, but when I pick up the phone, I get nothing..
What am I missing here? |

Do I need to forward any ports?
All I hear when I pick up the phone is a halo sound as it sounds when a normal line is dead.
Tested the phone + cable on a normal jack and it worked fine. |

are you sure it's plugged into the right port? they're opposite of the lights so try both.
I doubt you need to forward ports, but if you want to try it real quick, just put the rt31p2 ip in the dmz of the wrt. |

I had it in the wrong port :-/
THANKS!
Do I need any port forwarding? I have it setup for 10000-20000 and 5060-5061 but am not sure if I need that. |
