Hi,
I've got my Vonage phone a few days ago by mail, and I'm having a very peculiar problem:
When I restart the router, and the phone ports are initialized, I can make calls normally. However, after I hang up, the phone port goes dead and I cannot make any more calls until i restart the router and make the call immediately before the phone port disconnects again. When the port disconnects, I do not hear anything, not even static, as if the phone is still on the hook.
My network setup is as follows: Broadband Modem---->RT21P2---->PC
Apart from this, the router is working well as a network router. My PC can access the net normally, and I can tftp to Vonage.
The Status page on the router shows the following info:
| Code: | Firmware Version: 1.25.00 Voice Version: 2.0.12(LI) Registration Status: xxx-xxx-xxxx Online Call1 Status: Idle Call2 Status: Idle |
I got the 1.27.01 and the 1.28.00 firmwares from the Vonage tftp server, but the upgrade always fails with either file. The filenames of the updates are: RT31P2_v1.27.01_000_combin_code.bin RT31P2_v1.28.00_000_combin_code.bin I got their names elsewhere on the forum, but I wasn't sure if they work on RT31P2-VD or if there is a different firmware for this model.
Can anybody give some insight to what's going on?
Thanks in advance, |

Another question, can a user update the router's BIOS from the web administration panel, or it can only be done remotely by the Vonage suppot team?
Thanks |

if you found the file names then I'm pretty sure the answer tp your second question is in the same thread. there is one other thread that claims it worked manually, but that's all I've ever seen. |
