This morning, the phone was working great. Havent had problems in months. I got a call from my nephew, talked, hung up. Then I got another call that came over "incomplete data". I have NO dialtone...just dead air. So I rebooted everything in my network starting with PAP2, LinkSys WRT54g, Moto SB5100, and turned them back on in the reverse order. Waited 3 min...nothing except DEAD AIR. I am on hold now with Vonage Tech support. Has anyone experienced this?
Thanks |

what are the phone lights doing? did you try putting the pap2 directly into the cable modem just to see if that would make it work (and therefore put the problem somewhere in your network and not vonage)? |

Here is my update.
Its raining here in MA. My lines have moisture in them????? WT Heck? Never heard of that. Plugged a phone directly into the line 1 of the PAP2 and I have a dialtone.
I dont understand how this happens now when its raining, and we went through who knows how many snow storms this winter as well as rain..... |

Ah! Beautiful Sunny Colorado. We get over 320 sunny days a year, can you believe it? All our utilities are in conduits and buried. I know where Mansfield is. I did eight years of University in Boston. My clothing was a standard suit, covered by a London Fog rain coat, a brief case with umbrella. You know the type. Seemed to me it was always raining in Boston. So if rain on your cables on the backyard utility poles is a problem, I'm afraid you are going to spend a lot of time down. |

spepi, I just wanted to thank you and everyone that helped you with your Vonage line problems. I too have experienced the same with dropped calls and static. I did everything that was suggested including getting the SB5100 from my ISP. They were more than willing to give it up. My p hone seems to be working now so, Thanks again to all. |

Arg. Just had my first call with the typical "hello, Hello, Hello, Goodbye:. People still are either dropped on my line or they just can't hear me. I tried lowering my band from 90 to 50 and am now using the SB5100 Modem and still it's happening. Any suggestions at this point would be nice. Thanks again. |
