I just got my equipment in... I had a router all ready in place WRT54G.. I set it up as gateway with IP 192.168.15.1 and setup my RT31P2 with static IP in the advance routing 192.168.15.2 with RIP1 and NAT and DHCP disable. These is how it works... Cable modem----WRT54G-----RT31P2 And I get no tone or light on in the phone link. Any ideas? Do I have to setup port forwarding? Do I need a special phone? TIA. |

I would advise hooking up the modem directly to your cable connection, rather than through a router. Reboot everything and do not lift your phone handset until the modem initializes completely. It may take several minutes for the modem to initialize completely.
Then, plug your router into the modem. (power off) Apply power to the router, then boot your PCs.
If you are in the US, your PC clock seems to be set incorrectly.

Hook up my modem directly to my cable connection? If you look at the diagram It is... My WRT54G (Hacked Firmware) is way superior than the RT31P so I rather have the WRT54G in front. As far as the setup go with advance routing is working perfectly fine I can access each router individually at 192.168.15.1-WRT and 192.168.15.2-RT. What do you mean my time is wrong in my PC if I am in the US? My time in my PC is correct so I have no idea what you meant by that. |

My mistake. Apparently the quoted times are GMT. Most folks aren't accustomed to checking their posts by the current time in Grenwich.

sounds like you need to go to "your info" under "your account" and set what time zone you're in. |

Look at the post I just Made atroot. The WRT54G rocks hard. The Vonage device works awesome behind it once setup right. |
