Post subject: How to place a call to sri lanka
My calls to US is smooth and quality wise OK.
But when I try to place a call to Sri Lanka I get a message " Check the area code".
I am dialing the Nos. less 00. Is that the correct way?
Pl. Advice

Per
Vonage
instructions:
To make an international phone call to any country outside of the NPA-NXX:
1. From your
Vonage
Phone begin by dialing 011.
2. Enter the Country Code for the Country you wish to call
3. Dial the number you wish to call.
Once you completed dialing your number you will be connected to your party.

prakashvr,
To make international calls from the US, you must use the 011 prefix and then the country code which is a 2 digit code and then the city code which is usually in 2 digits that begins with a 0. You need to ignore the 0 digit. So for example, the phone number to be dialed will be 011 + 94 + (city code 1 digit) + phone number.
I hope this helps.
