This was also brought up in the feature request forum. There is currently no way to override incoming caller-id information with Vonage.

Our t-mobile numbers show up as "wireless caller".

Yes, the phone company that gives you your number is responsible for setting the caller id name in a database that is then accessible to other phone companies. Wireless numbers are just beginning to show up.

I am not certain what you are asking.

Customer names and numbers are considered a resource and I understand that a company can generate revenue by placing numbers in the database. I am not certain how much carriers have to pay to do caller ID lookups, typically you access one database, most of the database companies have reciprocal agreements so that most data is available via any service.

Only recently have wireless companies started listing numbers. In the past wireless users did not want to have their numbers listed. Two things have changed that, the ability to put your wireless number on the do not call list and the growing number of people with only on a mobile phone. Eventually Vonage will gain access to these mobile listings.

I added my Vonage number to my Tmobile phone address book that way when a call from my house direct dialed to my cell shows up it shows my name.

I think it is different with each carrier
When I call my number from my cell (Sprint PCS) I see my name, now I pay for my parents phones (sharing my plan) so when they call it shows my name also, whatcha gonna do

Now when I have incoming calls from cingular/former at&t wireless my cid shows Cell Phone
