I had a look about 10 minutes after I posted and it was offering me "up to 10Mb" for the £37.99.

The 10Mb might not be available in all areas it seems...

Not everywhere has been upgraded to 10Mb yet. The rollout is basically still underway. Until it is complete you won't find NTL or Telewest selling anyone a 10Mb package.

now being offered 10mb for £37.99.
I'll hold out for 10mb at £24.99

Looks like NTL are just giving the 10Mb to premium package customers. Judging by this article on the register you could have quite a wait before 10Mb gets to everyone:

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2005/08/08/ntl_broadband/

I pay £35 for 10Mb on Telewest so the £37.99 price is in the right ballpark. Having said that though, the Telewest service is uncapped...

I did have to laugh a bit actually - NTL made their 10Mb announcement to the press earlier than Telewest but appear to be well behind in terms of implementing it. I just hope my beloved Telewest doesn't turn to NTL Hell after the merge....

I have been using Vonage for a couple of years now and have never had any real problems setting up my Vonage router. I just started using NTL this past Sunday, I have 4mb service. I got the NTL modem hooked up fine and was able to surf the web. However, when I tried hooking up my Linksys Voip router I was not able to get it to connect. It was indicating that it had an internet connection, but after about 5 unsuccessful attempts of configuring the Linksys router I gave up.
Does anyone have a suggestion?

My parents have Vonage, and they are Telewest Blueyonder cable customers on 2MB Down, 256kbps Up, they have a Motorola VT2442, and their service works wonderfully with Vonage.

Forget the caller ID if you get sent the Dlink VTA or Motorola adapters, it just doesn’t work.
Caller ID does work when using the Linksys RT31P" boxes but compared to the Dlink the call quality is sub standard.

Just thought you ought to be ware of this fact. Check out this thread on the subject for more info
