I picked up a DLink DCM-202 and the Motorola Surfboard SB5100. The DLink is a great deal through Newegg.com. I haven't tested the Motorola as I hooked up the DLink first and don't want to interupt my service. But, everything seems to work just fine.

Curious if there are any other DLink DCM-202 cable modem users out there.

The only things I haven't tested yet or have a problem are:

1) can fax from PC modem but not fax machine (odd)

2) haven't been able to test Call Waiting ID (while one phone you can see who's calling in on the Call Waiting line)

Voicemail seems fine. I deleted from my Vonage account online and my voicemail light went off immediately. Never happened that way with Qwest.

I'll probaby find a couple of other things to test or check over as I want to be sure before I drop Qwest.

I am using a DCM-202 with a DI-624 wireless router and everything has worked flawlessly since Day 1. Just make sure the firmware on the DCM-202 is updated as I know Comcast won't work without it.

How long have you been up and running with hardware setup you described?

I'm using the DCM-202 (goes back to Best Buy for $86 w/tax, Newegg.com has it for $34 after rebate and free s/h). I'm using the DLink DI-784 WiFi router.

Firmware is current out of the box on the 202. I plugged my laptop into it directly so I could login it to it for kicks. I knew the firmware was good anyway as I'm with Comcast and I got a connection immediately.

I have had absolutely no problems with my Motorola SB5100. Been using it for over a year now for internet, and with Vonage for almost 3 months.
I have read on this forum that people prefer the SB5100 over most modems.

okay... I tried the *99 two different ways....

1) *993035551111 didn't work, then

2) *99--(two pauses I can manually enter at the fax)3035551111
and this didn't work either
