I have verizon for my cell, and when I get a call from another verizon cell, it's practically free (I have a 1,000 in network minutes)
My question is...if I get a call fowarded or simulrung from my Vonage number to my cell and the original caller is a Verizon caller, do I get the call as an in-network call??

I have Tmobile and when someone using Tmobile calls my house and I answer the cell...it is Tmobile to Tmobile for me and I do not get charged against my anytime mins unless it is someone else. I am sure all cell carriers use the same guidelines.

I agree with tysonfamnc and think he answered the question. With AT&T it uses my mobile to mobile minutes when I answer a call from a AT&T cell. I have Vonage setup to ring my Vonage line and cell at the same time.

it would make sense that simulring is different than forwarding, but since it would still have to hit the Vonage network first, it's an obvious gray area, so thanks for the info. with forwarding though, it definitely counts against you.

Sorry if I confused the person who posted the question I am only speaking from my experience and seeing what was on my Tmobile bill statement which is updated daily to see incoming and outgoing calls. During the calls that were placed directed to my Vonage line first and picked up on my cell from another cell that the caller dialed my Vonage on the same cell phone carrier it did not effect my anytime minutes.

When my Vonage transfers or forwards a call (via simulring specifically) it shows up as an outgoing or transferred call on the Vonage dashboard and activity pages. So the call you pick up on your cell phone is from Vonage, not the cellular carrier. So there is no in network calling for the cell, nor is there in network calling for Vonage.

Hey friends, we all need to pay something for all of these services! Wink

That is strange...on my cell the number shows the cell number of the caller and it is also on my home phone too when I pick up my cell. On the Vonage dashboard it shows the call forwarded to my cell. Maybe each carrier is different. I say wait till you get your cell bill or if it is updated daily check online.

I think you'll find that although your cell phone caller id shows the phone number of the caller, the call is really coming from Vonage.

I use Verizon Wireless and my cell phone caller id is correct, but the call actually gets counted on Vonage (outgoing) and verizon (incoming). If the caller is another Verizon wireless user it does not go to the in network or whatever they call it, at least on my phone bills.

It is all in my case moot as I have unlimited Vonage and I never exceed my quota on Verizon. Your mileage may vary Wink
