I live in Nashville, TN, and am a Bell South customer. As you can see below, the letter to transfer my number to Vonage was sent on February 1:
Updated Date: Number Transfer Progress History: January 30, 2005 Awaiting Letter of Authorization February 1, 2005 Letter of Authorization (LOA) Received February 1, 2005 Transfer Sent to Carrier
A friend of mine who had Bell South as well sent his letter in to Vonage 5 days before I did...he was switched over February 24. After a few more weeks of waiting, I called Vonage on March 17, and they told me I was all set to transfer over on March 19.
On March 22 after the transfer didn't go through, I called Vonage back (I had to call 3 times since I kept getting disconnected) and they told me it looks like the transfer was cancelled for some reason (they still haven't given me an answer). They then informed me that I will be notified when the new date for my transfer will be.
It is now almost 2 months later, and no one can give me an answer. Vonage has only credited my account $7 for all this time, even though I have to continue to pay $33 a month for Bell South service which I can't get rid of!!
I am so frustrated...and of course...each company blames the other. However, when you transfer to another local company, the transfer happens within a day or 2, so I tend to believe this is Vonage's problem.
Anybody have any ideas that will help me out? I'm paying $50 a month for phone service when $14.99 looked really good to me!!! Thanks for your help! |
