I set up the Vonage service yesterday, using the RT31P2 router that Vonage sent us. I replaced our existing router (netgear FVS318) with the RT31P2 (we have only 2 PCs in the office)
Everything is working fine -- internet access, phone service, etc. The one exception is that I cannot print to our networked printer (Laserjet 4300). I plugged the printer into the RT31P2, but I assume I need to know the "new" address of the printer as assigned by the RT31P2, and I don't know how to do that.
First of all, is this indeed the problem?
Second, if it isn't, any other ideas?
Third, if it is the problem, where do I find the new printer address?
Thanks,
Chad. |

I don't know if that's the problem or not, but the printer is probably 192.168.15.102 if you go to http://192.168.15.1 (password admin) then Status, the Local Network (under status) you can click dhcp client table which will show the ip's and macs of the connected devices. |

Thanks for the speedy response.
It would make sense the printer address would be 192.168.15.102, but that does not appear in the status-->LAN-->DHCP table. In fact the printer doesn't show up at all; there are only two addresses assigned, and they are clearly the two PCs.
Any other ideas out there? |

One other note which may help lead me to an answer.
I powered down the printer and turned it back on and then printed out the information page the Laserjet 4300 gives me from the panel on the hardware.
In the TCP/IP settings, it is still addressed as 192.168.1.197 (the address from my old router) and using the old gateway.
It would seem this is something for me to look for help on the hp site, but if anyone has any insights here, it would still be appreciated. |

should be able to go to the I/O menu on there and set it for DHCP. |

Fixed it using the I/O as suggested by reebok. Thanks for the non-vonage help on this. |
