Vonage is shipping me the Linksys unit. I've tracked it on DHL as that is how it is shipped.

But, they delivered it to the USPS. Apparently this is supposed to happen. Makes no sense to me why anyone would use two carries.

Anybody have a clue? I'm curious.

Vonage ships via UPS and DHL depending on location. At times DHL will make a delivery attepmt, and if nobody accepts the package, they will take it back and hand the shipment off to USPS. I dont know why this is done.

Mine was shipped and received through UPS in January, very quick delivery by the way.

It's a less expensive method of delivery. DHL delivers your (and other) shipment(s) to your local post office. That way the DHL truck doesn't have to drive around to deliver each of those packages to individual houses. The PO comes to your house every day anyway and they deliver it.

Her's a link to the DHL site.

It's all about finding a cheaper way and what does it matter if you get prompt delivery.

heh, took a while to find the answer on this one.

I agree, dhl@home is a terrible shipping method and it adds a minimum of one day.

DHL shipped mine, but USPS delivered it. I guess there's some deal where they work together now. Shipping was pretty quick for me. I ordered service last friday afternoon (3-25-05) and the unit was at my door by 2:00pm yesterday (monday - 3-28-05). Granted I'm in Chicago and it shipped from Jersey, but with the holiday that's still pretty fast shipping.

Yanked it out of the box, put it on my Linksys stack, powered it up and I was golden. So far so good.

Order on 3/28 A.M. rec'd today 3/31 P.M. DHL delivered to local Post Office yesterday and USPS delivered it to my door.

Setup was a snap and the quality is fantastic (had to turn down the volume on my phone).

Now if my LNP goes as smoothly, you 'll see one happy camper singing the praises of Vonage!
