I have been switched over to Vonage for two months now. Overall, I have been very happy. But my problem is the opposite of what most people have- the audio volume coming into my telephone is too loud (the other send says their reception of me is fine).
How can this be fixed?

You can simply call Vonage tech support and they can adjust this for you. |

I just got off the phone with Vonage customer service after asking them to turn the volume down on my line also, and they told me they couldn't. They said they do not have the capability to adjust volume on either the Linksys or Motorola router. What type of device did they provide you? When I referred to this article they simply restated that it couldn't be done and gave me no options. Very frustrating. |

if you hear people too loud, tell them to lower the FXS output to -1 or 0 |

Yep, you probably had an inexperienced rep as those values are adjustable by Vonage techs. People were told the same thing about the DST issues.
Luckily when I called I reached a knowledeable female who fixed mine in a snap. She said as soon as I hung up my line it would be fixed and she was right.
With the amount of support calls they are getting I would imagine they have lots of people learning the ropes. |

Hi all,
Just got my adaptor and everything is up and running.
Plugging my existing Olympia Dualphone into the RT31P2 audio appears fine but ringtone (what I hear when I call someone else before they answer) is distorted when calling O2, Orange and Vonage... calling a BT line is ok.
So a number of questions!
Are the tones generated by the RT31P2 or delivered from the far end and they would be on a conventional call? I suspect they are generated within the RT31P2?
I have rapidly become aware of the input/output setting for the FXS port (can someone confirm this is the phone port and output would be from the RT31P2 towards to the handset?) but having Vonage change these from -2 to -3 for the output setting did not resolve my ringtone distortion.
If the system tones are generated within the RT31P2 then can the level of these be governed separately and if so what is the parameter called??
Anyone got any suggested values?
Regards,
Paul |

I believe the signalling tones are generated within the phone adapter, as the Spiura tech manual shows all of the tones & all of the frequency & timing combinations which make them. |
