I can offer you a bit of feedback on your concerns about cordless phones.

I was told that wireless routers operate on the same frequency as some cordless phone, 2.4ghz.

Funny thing though is I have a two cordless phones, one operates on 2.4ghz, the other 5.8ghz. I experienced a humming noise on the line when I was using the 5.8ghz handset, that is until I moved the base into another room. No problems at all with the 2.4 handset.

So yes, there is a possibility.

Hope this helps.

Any will do - a 11mbps bridge has more than enough bandwidth.

However, if you have a 54mbps (802.11g) network, you might want to keep all your deivces 54mbps capable or else the network will drop into compatiblity mode and your transfers speeds will be reduced.

108mbps equipment is not really necessary... since most of that stuff is propreitary to each manufacturer.

Linksys do have a very good FAQ which does provide good hints on how to do most things with their equipment -- at the following link:

Note that for some reason this Forum does not allow links to work --so the link I have posted above will need to be highlighted and then copied and then pasted into a separate browser session to work -- this is a pain -- so be careful how you highlight my reference link above. Smile

Your 2.4 Ghz phones will work as long as they are not near your computer containg the wireless network adapter or your Linksys wireless device -- plus you can change the channels that the wireless phone transmits on -- your phone Manuel should provide instructions how to change the channel. The Key however is not to be anywhere near the wireless router or the computer that contains the wireless network adapter -- the rule of thumb I suggest is at least 15 ft of separation --- this rule of thumb does not work consistently so be aware that your wireless phone could knock out your wireless network [upon ringing or dialing] . The best solution for wireless phones coexisting with wireless networks is either replace the phones with 900 Mhz or 5.8 Ghz type phones,

Question

Links are only cross referenced to a S_P_A_M database of bad URL's, thats all. It makes my job easier and is becoming very common in other forums.

Thanks for the heads up. In fact I found out that my viewing of links was being filtered/changed by my HTTP Proxy engine -- when I bypassed the Proxy the links I posted worked just fine. I keep forgetting that my web viewing experience is controlled by my Proxomitron Smile http://proxomitron.info/index.html
