| Quote: | | Over the coming weeks Comcast will be upgrading all of our High-Speed Internet Service customers from 3Mbps downstream and 256Kbps upstream to speeds as fast as 4Mbps downstream and 384Kbps upstream - at no additional charge. |
And by March 31 all Comcast custormers will recieve this upgrade!! Just power cycle your modem for new speeds. My QOS went from an average of 30% to now 96% And from 2 simutanious calls to 4! My Vonage line is "Smoking" now... |

Congratulations! We're still waiting for it here in Denver. The best I can get out of customer service is, "You should have by the end of March. Yeah, right. I'll believe it when I see it. |

Is power cycle necessary? I am in the San Franicsco suburbs and seem to now get the 350k upload but download stilll suffers (sub 2.3M) depending on test. 2wire gives less than 700, vonage-forum gives about 1.6-2.1M, watching broadband reports give about 2-3M. Buddy over in SAn Fran (35 mies away) gets way over 3+ consistently from 2wire. |

Yeah when it got offered here in Portland, Oregon, I got it PLUS paid the extra $10 to increase to 6mbps down and something like 786 up. Makes quite the difference. My QOS went up as well and it says I can support 9 quality calls. |

What make/model modem do you have? If you have an older modem that is not DOCSIS 2.0 or better, you should upgrade your modem and that would resolve your bandwidth constraints. The latest Motorola Surfboard SB5100 is a good choice... |

on 2wire.com I avg 400k down on broadbankreports I avg 3900k/360 down/up at speakeasy on vonage-forum I avg 2100/355 down/up
My buddy (35 miles away) consistentently hit very similar #'s between all three sites above( down/up) - something does not seem right here. |

Eat your heart out. I'm on the gold tier with 6 meg down and 768 up for another $10/month. I'm amazed at how nice it is to have that much bandwidth for uploads. |
