This topic has nothing to do with changing the MAC address of a device. If you read the origianl post you will realize that the OP wants to use a used device for a new account. I do not see one single reference to changing the MAC address of a device in this post.

Thanks for the cover, ToddlerTN.
suprmanjoe, your efforts to get an online web order form for this are very much appreciated.
My guess is that linksys is giving Vonage a BIG discount (aka "kickback") on the linksys devices that Vonage is pushing now, and to protect that discount, they have to demonstrate to linksys that they are actively squashing the pre-owned box market to ensure that boxes are being moved at the highest rate.
It's pretty clear from the posts and from my experience that there is no clearly-defined mechanism in place to accomplish reactivation of a box from a previous (now deactivated) Vonage account.
My comment to Vonage is that alot of us, at least myself certainly, came over from Verizon and others because we didn't like "Big Brother" and "High Handed" tactics that these communications "Giants" used, and we thought that Vonage and other VoIP's were going to be more transparent and more understanding that people need to communicate, and sometimes it's urgent, and we need ways to do it without having to deal with non-transparent systems and procedures and "installers" who don't do what was requested, don't show up, or just don't care.

What Dan said is that reusing a device is technically possible, but Vonage has a very strict policy against it. Following Dan's explanation, to reuse a device you would need to change its MAC address. I guess you can argue the point further with Dan.
