I am glad 911 is here and it seems Vonage acted pretty quickly to our complaints that we were without it.

But now we need to have Click2Call availability here as well.

OK - I've been seeing this Click2Call quoted many times - what the heck is it? Sure I could look at the US site but I'm here now Smile Rolling Eyes

Click2call allows you to highlight any phone number on a website (ex: phone number on a contact us webpage) and when you right click it you will see an option to "Click2call" that number. The number will then ring on your phone and when you pick it up it will be calling the number you highlighted.

I am pretty sure that is how it works.

You mean just like my Blackberry? Smile Any 7, 10 or 11 digit number in an email is hyper linked to the built-in phone. Click it and your talking.

End of Blackberry commercial Smile

This is definitely off topic. In any case, I heard that the Blackberry provides a very crappy cell phone. I would not want one.

I am not sure how useful the Click2Call software would be. It is not all that often that I am sitting at my computer when I need to call someone. I am usually downstairs in the living room and decide to call from that phone. I doubt I would use it much.

It would be nice however, if there were more integrated PC tools with Vonage. Voip has many capabilities that seem endless. There are other things that could be done.

Well when you are looking for a phone number for someone or a business and cant find it, rather than paying 411 charges I would go to canada411.com to find the number. Then using Click2call i will dial it.

One thing I would really like to see come to Vonage is the Remote phone option

Another advantage of click to call is that you can use it to let other people call you for free (if you're on an unlimited plan).

For example if you have a friend or family member who lives outside your local calling area (and you don't have a virtual number for that area) normally they'd call you and you'd have to hang up and call them back so that the long distance is made from your end not theirs. With click 2 call they can log on and enter their own number. Then your phone rings, their phone rings, and you're connected under your calling plan.

I think that is the real benefit of it for me at least.

Egads! Vonage may be discontinuing that feature if they read your article.

You must be quite the analyst to figure that out. I am impressed, but it may not be knowledge that Vonage would want widespread.

Then again, I know people who go to work and logon to their Vonage account and activate Call Forwarding to long distance numbers. Then they dial their home number and get a long distance party for free!
