When I call a cell...it rings...and when the voice mail picks up...I still hear ringing for a second.. Funny because its not really an audio delay to me because I'm getting the voice mail too..almost like it takes vonage 300ms to realize..."oh wait it's been connected...STOP THE RINGING!"

Does it happen when calling all cell phones, or just one in particular? I have noticed that when I call my wife's Virgin Mobile phone, I get the same thing you describe when her voice-mail picks up. On the other hand, when I call my Cingular phone, the voice-mail picks up normally.

Happens to me too. On 3 different cell phones with 3 seperate service providers. Definately an issue with Vonage.

Happens to me, too. It's such a brief overlap it never bothered me, though.

I experienced this for the first time when using someone else's Vonage phone today. In my opinion, it's preferable to what I experience on my own Vonage line: instead of hearing the ringing sound over/under the beginning of the voicemail greeting, I only hear the ringing until that particular ring cycle finishes, then I hear the voicemail greeting, but I miss that first second or so where you apparently normally hear the overlap.

So where you hear ringing and the voicemail greeting at the same time for that 300ms or whatever, I only hear the ringing then get dropped into an already-in-progress voicemail greeting. In my case, if I call my own cellphone, I miss "Hi, I can't take your call right now" and start with "please leave a message..."

I talked to customer service about this today (since I had to call in for something else...as you said, this particular issue is a minor nuisance), but the unfortunate result was that he must have pushed new firmware or made some other change, as my VT1000 reset itself and disconnected our call. You'd think he would have warned me about what he was about to do and/or called me back, but he didn't. And I refused to wait on hold for another 30 minutes just to get to someone and explain what I'd just been through Smile
