I got my Vonage adapter today, plugged it in, turned in on and it worked!
Unfortunately when I try and ring it from my Virgin mobile I'm told that I have dialled an invalid number. Calls for other mobiles and land lines work fine.
Has anyone else had this problem, or is it just my number? |

I've now been told by Virgin technical support that they have not been told of the existence of my number (and others in the same range) by the owner of the numbers. Therefore they cannot add it to their system. They have contacted the owner of the number range (I can't remember their name, but it wasn't Vonage) but won't be able to do anything until they get a reply.
I have also contacted Vonage about this. Hopefully it will get sorted, because if it doesn't I'll probably stop using Vonage.
I have a Leeds (0113) number and suspect other Vonage 0113 numbers will suffer the same issue. |

Hi
It will most likely be Gamma Telecom Holdings Ltd that will be supplying the number to vonage.
I dont know anyone on The virgin network but all the other networks come through to my vonage number ok.
however these things usually get sorted very quickly its probably just been a communiacation error between providers.

Yes, you're right it was Gamma that supply the number.
You're also right about it getting sorted out quickly - it's now working. |

Advise Virgin Wireless that the problem is in the "translation" and to add the prefix. They will probably wonder how you know, just say, I am smart. |
