My LOA was transferred to "the carrier" on January 25th. After a month of e-mails and a complaint filed with the Michigan Public Service Commission, I recieved the following e-mail:

The carrier has issued a tentative transfer date for {03/30/2005}.
Please keep in mind that this date is subject to change and is not
necessarily the date your transfer will take place. We will send you
a notification when the date is finalized by the carrier.

Sincerely,

Mercy
LNP Coordinator

Do you think this will actually go through? Once a tentative date is scheduled, what is the likelihood that this goes through on time?

Finally, is it just coincidence that this occured after so many e-mails and a complaint filed with the state? If I hadn't done all that, would by transfer request just sit out there forever?

I got the same e mail, and i'm not excited, since i'm waiting for my number since 01/11/05.This is what they wrote to me:
- The carrier has issued a tentative transfer date for April 01, 2005.
Please keep in mind that this date is subject to change and is not
necessarily the date your transfer will take place. We will send you
a notification when the date is finalized by the carrier.-

Same,as yours. If i don't get my number back by that date,i'm sending a report to the FCC and i'm asking for a refund.

I had a tentative date that came and went with nothing being done. I did call the next day to get credit since it was after the 20 business days. Sent in my LOA on the 26th of Jan and number was ported on the 15th of March.

I recieved the e-mail with the transfer date, and guess what, on that date, my number actually transfered without an issue! I was very suprised, happy, but suprised!

Carrier was ATT in NJ

I'm definitely hoping it goes through. But I've gotten the run-around so often over the past month that my faith is lacking at this point. I'll keep you posted.

Besides, the "Executive Response Team" is on the case, so how could it go bad?

We started getting calls on the Vonage line last night. And I got the "transfer is complete" e-mail late yesterday evening. Yay!

Same deal -- signed up Feb 19, still waiting for number transfer, told after contacting customer service by e-mail, then fax, then phone that the tentative date was March 24. Did get a credit for first month's service.

After reading other tales of woe similar to mine, I guess I feel better, but disappointed that this is a common occurrence. Why can't the V people get their act together?

After 2 months of waiting, and numerous emails back and forth, I finally have a tentative transfer date of April 7th. I received this info in an email from someone on the Executive Response Team, but yet there has been no change on my Vonage dashboard... nothing that says a transfer date or anything. Should I be concerned or is this normal?

Well, I've been waiting 25 business days as of today. I emailed Vonage a couple days ago and got the same response with a tentative date of April 7th also. I think some other have been told 4/7 too, so I'm not really banking on it, but who knows
