If anyone is interested int he Cisco PIX 520 6.3(5) configuration regarding the Linksys Model No.: PAP2 setup, I've successfully got it running with the following details:

Code:

fixup protocol sip 5060
fixup protocol sip udp 5060

name 192.168.1.25 Ivonage
name 72.72.72.72 Ovonage

object-group service Vonage udp
  port-object range 5060 5061

static (dmz1,outside) udp Ovonage 5060 Ivonage 5060 netmask 255.255.255.255 0 2500
static (dmz1,outside) udp Ovonage 5061 Ivonage 5061 netmask 255.255.255.255 0 2500

access-list acl-ext permit udp any host Ovonage object-group Vonage

Hope that helps someone.

Yes, Double natting can do funny things.... I would either get rid of the Linksys, or if it's your Vonnage adapter, put it behind the pix and turn on the fixup protocols for SIP.

I have a PIX501 with three of the silver Linksys Vonage adapters on the inside, all plugged directly into the PIX. Will the PIX501 support QoS? I've been having quality problems latley, and I suspect the problem is that I'm using a large portion of my bandwith from inside, so I'm thinking that if the PIX supports QoS, It *SHOULD* prioritize the traffic from the Vonage adapters and have traffic from the rest of the network wait.

Thanks

Most of the time doing a double nat will not work. Some web pages and some services cannnot handle the extra bit added to the packet. In you case you do not need to double nat. The Linksys is already doing nat for you. The Pix is still a firewall and still governs what happens when packets try to come back inside the network. So my advice is to turn off the nat on the pix and just do a global on the outside interface or do a 1-to-1 translation for the ip address on the inside and outside of the firewall.

i.e. if the outside is 192.168.1.2-192.168.1.254 and the inside is 192.168.0.2-192.168.0.254 the put the outside address in the global statement.

Try adding the fixup protocol sip udp 5060. Everything else looks similar to my setup. I don't have softphone running here, but it looks good.

Vonage doesn't use udp 5060 for SIP, so that fixup will do nothing for you. Vonage uses udp 5061.

No, a PIX 501 does not/will not support QoS. PIX OS 7.0 or higher is required for QoS support, which is not available for a PIX 501/506/506E.

You actually don't need to allow inbound access to 5061 (especially 5060 since Vonage doesn't use it), only outbound.

KB8RLN - Where is access-list "out-in"? You specify an access-group referencing that access-list, but I don't see it in your config.
