Is Vonage implementing some sort of technical inhibitor to make faxing less reliable on a regular voice line? That's about the only way this makes any sense to me. Otherwise, all the people who say getting a dedicated fax resolved the problem would have had the same success just asking Vonage to switch their voice line to the other port. |
Toddler, since I replaced my ATA186 units with RT31P2 units, I've been able to fax reliably on my voice line. I'm not sure about those situations where people say that getting a "dedicated" fax line clears up faxing issues... |

Hmm, that's exactly the opposite of what I remember reading. I'd seen a thread where folks said they could do it with their Motorola adapter but now with the RT31P2 they had to break down and order a fax line. |

For testing purposes I have had people fax me and has come over my voice (only) line perfectly. No issues, (besides the toner on my fax). I am going to get their fax line as I will probably be receiving many faxes regularly, and don't want to tie up my line. Or have the call waiting beep tones affect it. Oh, and BTW, I also have the RT31P2 unit. |
