Hi,
I just signed up for Vonage on March 18th. My current home phone line is with "The NEIGHBOURHOOD, BUILT BY MCI".

Anybody had any issues with MCI LNP?

Please share.

Thanks
Phosvon

I have been wating over 4 months. Even if it is not Vonage's fault, their customer service has been abysmal.

I have communicated many times with Vonage via email and on the phone. Every time they have assured me that the number transfer is imminent, that they know what the problem is, that it will be resolved shortly. However, it never is, they never get back to me and tell me what the problem really is.

At one point they had me calling MCI myself since they said MCI was saying they did not own the number. I called MCI and MCI said they had never received any request to transfer the number. Then Vonage said, "Oh, your carrier is not MCI, it's "the neighborhood by MCI".which I thnk is the most bogus thing Iv've heard in a while since they got the carrier off of the copy of the bill I sent them. So, they said the problem was resolved and that was 1 1/2 months ago.

I am very close to cancelling Vonage and going to a different Voip company. When I do, I will complain to the FCC and the PUC. I was in favor of companies like Vonage not being regulated like the telcos, but now I'm beginning to see why they need to be.

We tried to port our business numbers from MCI to Vonage. We were told to expect 20 days. We budgeted for 30. Our MCI lines got torn down before the port happened.

We gave up on the port ever happening.

Not sure whose fault it is -- but we could not get a lot of visibility into the process from Vonage customer service.

I had the neighborhood by MCI, and ported out in about 2 weeks.

I have had no problems.

Hello from Tennessee!

I've been waiting on MCI since December 21st. Any suggestions would be welcome. Vonage says they have resubmitted but it's been 20+ days since they did it......

I was ported out in about 15 days, without a hitch. From what I have been reading, I guess that I was lucky. No complaints from my side.....
