Standard dowload is 4.93 MB...upload 357KB...when I make a phone 30 minutes into the call I get 1 way audio...outbound...no one can hear me. Tonight I heard music on the line. Also I ran the Vonage Voip test.
Results with no call - 4.186MB download, upload 285 to 387 KBPS
Results from a phone call and the same test run. 2.195 MB download and 57-63KBPS for upload.

Yip, I've had the same problem from the get go. Opened package a week ago. Same thinsg happening to me
Before rt31p2 I was getting 2.25mbs/198kbs. Cable One is provider. After rt31p2 I was loosing connection fast. Within minutes, I was getting> 200kbs/37kbs. Yeah, you read it right. I have been using my linksys befsr41 for about two years, now. The rt31p2 does have the latest firmware. I ended up putting the rt31p2 behind the befsr41 and turned off dhcp server. Assigned local ip address with same subnet mask and everything is working great. Oh, and If you were getting the noise in the background. Many have suggested shorting out pins 3&4 on an rj-11 jack and placing this into phone port2 on the rt31p2. It has the same effect as "off the hook" on port 2, which kills the noise. I also plugged dsl filter into phone port1 and another dsl filter into the wall befor the adapter connects to the wall. I think I have absolute clarity. You have to try really hard to hear the background hiss, now. I'm very happy with it this way and I'm not changing a thing. Many a night upto 4-5am and getting up at 8-9am. I don't care if I loose QoS. It didn't do anything positive for me anyway. |

My voice quality must be GREAT because people can hear a TV in another room and I hear a conversation when someone is using my phone and I on the other side of the room...goodness now thats clarity |
