Say Paul, were you able to get the IP Address of the Motorola VT1000 so the firmware can be checked in the set up?

Received e-mail from tech stating I have new firmware phone has been working for 15 1/2 hours with no reboot. Tried the IP address which was no good.

sirich, do you have the VT1000 behind a router? If so, that is why you can't access the page. I can't access that address, unless the VT1000 is the first thing after my cable modem. Also, try using the http:// in front of it, as sometimes they are finicky about that.

Mine, now has been on for about 36hrs and still is up and running and I don;t think I have the upgraded software.

The VT1000 is behind the router. The ip address is correct but I have Road Runner. If I put the Motorola ATA before the router/after the cable modem I would have to clone the MAC address as I had to do when initially setting up the router. The tech gave me the instructions which I will keep for reference. The phone has been up and running for over 24 hours now. He said that I was given the new firmware. Paulfromny had the same problem and he was given the new firmware and he has no problems since. Right now, if it is not broken, I am not going to fix it...

Thanks all for your insights. My service has now been stable since last night. It has now been almost 24 hours with no need to reboot. I have not yet received a confirmation that the technician worked on my VT off the trouble queue but its been working fine now. Not sure about my firmware or what exactly happened. I've installed wall watcher to view my Linksys BEFSR41 logs and let it run all night. Lo and behold, there was tons of activity emanating from Vonage to my Motorola VT. Potentially it might be a firmware update, not sure yet. Don't really care, just need to keep testing my line to ensure it is reliable before the trial period is over.

Next hurdle, I've asked for my Verizon phone number to be transferred so all my problems revolved around getting the Vonage service to work with my Motorola VT1005V using the virutal number assigned to me. Now what will happen when my original Verizon phone number is active? Stay tuned...

Yesterday I had to reboot VT1005 around 3:30pm (as usual), about one hour later I recieved a call from tech support, saying they believe they fixed the problem and asked if I had any problems. So they are still working on mine. Cry Though I have noticed for the past few days that it goes down about every 12 hours (3-3:30 am/pm). Before it was three or more times a day.
Anyone have the VT1005 and did not transfer phone number? It sounds like from what everyone said on here that they only fixed those with the VT1000 and transfered number.

Three days have passed now and the service has remained stable. No more problems with incoming or outgoing calls.

My problem was caused by me transferring my phone number from Verizon to Vonage. Vonage screwed up their back end scripting so my temporary virtual Vonage number was having problems.

Next, I'm waiting for my number transfer to complete.

Well I wish I could say the same as everyone else but I have had issues still today. Now Vonage says that in addition to the previous issue I have to clone my MAC address. Well I did that and so far it has been working very well for about 3 hours. Hopefully I will wake up tommorrow and it is still working and I will have no more issues.

It is now 0745 hrs Sunday, and I have not had to reboot since Wednesday at 1515 hrs. Seems they have fixed my problem... Smile
