Hello all and thank you for reading and any/all replies that are posted.
I am currently interested in Vonage. Here are the facts : I am a Comcast cable user. I have two PCs (via router) using a connection during some hours of the day. We play World of Warcraft an online mmrpg game. We are interested in using this service as it would save us about 70 dollars a month on our phone bill, if it works as described on the site.
I have read one post where they said people have issues with Von. and comcast, True or false?
Anyone have any experience about using it while having two computers using your cable service? or with online massive multi player gaming? I am a stay at home mom, so mine is on 24/7. His is on less but quite a bit.
I would like just some honest opinions before I switch, as I don't want to come into any unforseen roadblocks that I might hit. We use a linkysy four port router, and a comcast cable modem. We have two excellent PCs, custom built by the IT geek aka my husband.
Thanks so much for your time, and please respond if you can [/b] |

Why change your number? Is your current number non-portable? |

We have cable internet, however when i put in our area code and first 3 digits, it said that we couldn't keep our number. But, we can still get the service right? Just use another local number, right? |

I run Comcast through a Linksys RT31P2 router with built in ATA for the phone. I have never had a single problem with Vonage or with Comcast as an ISP. I have, unfortunately, had difficulty with the Voip Speed Test in the list to your left. It doesn't read even a 4th of the advertised Comcast speed. Other speed tests verify the advertised rates.
I don't play games, but I know the capability exists by enabling the proper ports. The Vonage preferred routers contain those ports with access to them. |
