I have just purchased the Linksys PAP2 device from staples. Came home and set it up, this is what I have:

Linksys Wireless WRK54G Router
SurfBoard Cable modem
Linksys Voip PAP2

Everything seems to be setup, except for one part that I am not clear on. It says that port forwarding has to be setup and to specify the IP address of the pap2 device in my router settings. I have not be able to locate this as the help documentation is not helpful.

I did try to go to: http://192.168.102.1 which apparently is what I need to access in order to get the ip address to enter that info into my linksys router. Can someone please help? I am about to through all this stuff out the window, I am so frustrated.

Vonage, I have worked for many technical support companies and now currently management one for a software company, so I know what to expect from support. Your support is the worst I have ever witnessed, support is your front line for customer service and right now you guys are not doing a good job at all. I would fully expect you guys to lose a good 25% of your business because of your poor support.

I am a new customer, I was put on hold with support for 20 minutes, then I got someone who put me on hold for 10 minutes, only to come back and tell me that I was going to be transferred to someone else. I then waited for another 10 minutes. The second person who came on asked me for ALL of my information all over again, and asked me to repeat my same question and setup I had already gone through (I thought I was being transferred, why would I need to repeat all this information?) at that point I was promptly put on hold and held for another 20 minutes until someone else picked up and explained that someone would call me back in 24 - 48 hours.

How do you expect to keep customers with this absolute lack of customer service?

As I said, I have had many years of experience in support and I very much hate complaining because I know what many of your techs are going through.

Well, it is true that customer service could stand some improving in areas, but this is the way it is everywhere. Try to get customer service from McAfee sometime and you will praise Vonage.

Ok, always set your DHCP to Obtain an IP Automatically. In this manner your PAP2 will always set itself to the IP address supplied it. Few ISP's and DHCP routers will work otherwise.

Since you bought your PAP2 from Staples it is highly unlikely that they gave you any usable information. Since your problem is setting your device up to work, here are a few links to help you do that. Good luck.
