I got Vonage in January, and have had mixed success. It has worked pretty well over the past 2 months, but over the past couple of days, I have constantly been losing my dial tone.
Here is my setup: Comcast High Speed Internet Motorola Surfboard Cable Modem Modem directly into RT31P2 RT31P2 into computer Phone plugged into Phone Port 1
The lights on the RT31P2 are as follows Power is on Ethernet 2 and 3 are on (I have a Tivo going into Port 2) Both phone lights blink at the same time every 5 seconds, then go off Internet light is on (blinking very rapidly)
I have tried unplugging the router and plugging it back in a million times. Customer service is a joke.
Someone help! |

while on the status page at http://192.168.15.1 keep refreshing it and see what it says while it's going through the blinking. shouldn't be too hard since they're blinking so often. and if you haven't yet, this is the recommended reset procedure: unplug all phone cords, unplug power, push and hold reset button, plug power back in while holding reset button, keep holing reset button for 15 seconds after powering back on. keep an eye on the power light, and don't plug the phones back in (or power the box off) until it stops blinking. out of curiosity, why aren't you using ethernet ports 1 and 2 instead of 2 and 3? |
