I been trying to port my Bellsouth line to Vonage since Dec 5 2004. In mid Feb, I decided to try and port it to CallVantage, which said that they could do it by 2/27. In the meantime, I terminated Vonage and kept my motorola adapter. Well, 2/27 came and went. No port to CallVantage. On 3/16 my dialtone on Bellsouth quit. Called Bellsouth repair on 3/16. They told me my line had been ported out to Adelphia , which is the carrier for Vonage in Baton Rouge, LA. My landline is essentially gone. Called Vonage to reactivate that night. They said can't. I told to sign up for a new account on the website. After I signed up for a brand new account, BINGO..my calls are going to Vonage voice mail with the generic greeting while having no active TA. I called back an asked them to activate my original Motorola. THEY DID. They had me up in receiving calls on my ported number on 3/17 in the a.m.. My old Vonage account says "transfer cancelled" in the dashboard. My only fear now is that the original cancelation order will catch up and cancel my port even though my ported number is working fine. I faxed a new port request on my NEW Vonage account. I'm at the "transfer sent to carrier" phase and keeping my finger crossed. I cancelled CallVantage today. |
