Used the Vonage service from Beijing China for a year. It worked pretty well up until Mid January when it all started to go to hell. Now it doesn't work at all Sad

Anyone else from China having trouble that starting in January of this year? I'm trying to figure out if the government is doing something.

We use to have great connection in France for such a long time.. NO problems.. then all of sudden it just stopped. The Vonage box does pick up the IP address.. but no dial tone. We still do have our internet connection..

Has anyone else had this problem in Europe? IS it a firmware issue? Is it a port blocking issue... Wanadoo says no..

How do you find out? and what is the solution ..besides SKYPE??

Installed this Vonage box in January. Worked fine for awhile. Now it doesn't. Have a dial tone and can place the call but get a few different results. 1) a rapid busy signal. 2) a loud fast beep beep signal ( u know that real irritating noise). or 3) the called party will answer and they will hear me somewhat okay, but they sound like they are in a bathtub.

Have a 3000/512 dsl line but of course the speed varies here in Bangkok.

It could be the up and/or download speeds. or it could be the manner in which the router and/or computer are config'd right. or of course it could be my ISP (True).

Vonage is not helpful in answering the phone or emails. (I don't want to be told again to use their bandwidth saver BS).

Boy, it would be great to get a real techy person to help me here. Hell, I'd pay the right person to come over and fix this.....

Cabo San Lucas Mexico with a 512k Prodigy line (typically 200-400k dn, 200k up). Using a Motorola vt1000 behind a D-Link router. Calls have been reliable since deployment 11/04; when measured speed falls to 200/200, the audio is choppy if we're simultaneously using the PCs on the Internet. Overall, I'm satisfied.
