i just got my Vonage package in the mail today and hooked it up and did the cd configure thing. Is there anything else I have to do for my phone to work? The phone light on the router is not light up and there is no dial tone. and obviouisly i do have internet connection thanks  ISP: mediacom |

the way it said to do it in the book and on the cd. Im not much of a computer literate person but I can follow directions if given in detail. lol  |

ok, so, cable modem (what kind?) to linksys rt31p2 to your computers right? is the power light blinking? did you ever unplug it while it was blinking? |

yes, Motorola sb5100 surfboard cable modem. power light on both is on but not blinking. Never unplugged it while it was blinking. |

ok go to http://192.168.15.1 (password: admin) and click Status. It should have Line1 and Line2. do you have anything after that? it will also have the firmware version in the upper right corner of each page (a number like 1.27.01 or 1.25.00, etc) what does yours say? |

it doesn't look like your device was programmed with your number. what about the number in the upper right hand corner? also, try this from a command prompt: tftp tftp.vonage.net get test |

Broadband Router with 2 Phone Ports RT31P2 that.s the only number I see in the upper right hand corner. How do I program my device with my number? and what is a command propmt or whatever? I have AIM if it would be easier and quicker. |

for reference per aim conversation: tftp test works firmware version is 1.25.00
I think either the device was never programmed with a number or Vonage doesn't have the right mac address on file. but anyway, I'm posting this for others' reference if someone has a better idea. |
