I'd really like to see a Do Not Disturb feature that can be scheduled for specific time periods -- for example, every day from 8:00pm to 6:00am. A feature such as this would be very helpful for parents with young children. For me personally, I have friends / family who often call after 9:00pm, even though I've repeatedly asked them not to (since my child is a light sleeper). Having an automated way to temporarily shut them off would be very beneficial. |

This is not an automatic thing but have you thought about forwarding your calls to voicemail instantly? Just log into your account and set it up there. |

Thanks for the suggestion. I could do that, but it would be a pain to set up every evening and remove every morning. I'd probably just give up after a few days and deal with the calls.
Hopefully, Vonage is working on a solution for this, or will be soon. Ideally, if Vonage does implement DND, they will provide a way to schedule it. At the very least, allow us to enable / disable it via a simple key sequence on the phone (similar to the way Packet8 does it). |

I would like to see something like that as well. I work from home and having the phone automatically routing to voice mail after working hours would be great. |

ChilliDog,
That is a great suggestion. I have suggested exactly the same feature. My suggestion was that it be dashboard settable (and thus schedulable for days of the week, etc.), but I also like the idea of a phone keypad shortcut to activate/deactivate. I cannot tell you how many times I have been woken up by wrong numbers in the middle of the night (my number is very close to that of the Conservative Book Club), and how many times we go diving for the phone across the living room, hoping that we'll stop the ringing from waking up our baby...
How about setting up a poll to see who would vote for this feature? |

Hi! Here I am in a Vonage void for four months, not even knowing this place existed!
Sometimes the simplest solutions are the best. Perhaps you can just turn the ringer off? So it rings five times before the voicemail picks up. At least it's not the old fashioned physical answering machines. |

AT&T has exactly what you are asking for, I too would love to see it with Vonage, getting tired of late night calls to my kids line... |

I have Do Not Disturb with AT&T and it also worked great with VoicePulse. This is a must have feature for my wife so I hope Vonage will eventually catch up with the competition. |

I would be concerned over what would happen if a family members car broke down or if any other type of family emergency occured during your do not disturb time. You would never get the call.
Just a thought...... |

You have 2 ways of configuring Do Not Disturb. One is to send all calls to voice mail no matter what. The other option is to play a message indicating you do not want to be disturbed, but it also gives the callers the option to ring you. VoicePulse takes that a step further by giving you call filters. You could setup a filter to make calls from your family members phones to ring through no matter what. |
