Vonage only has local numbers available in London and Kitchener/Waterloo in the 519 area code right now. Basically, you can only get local numbers in major centres right now so I wouldn't hold my breath. You'll have to settle for the available 519 numbers that they have now or stick with Ma Bell.
Vonage would still be worth your while if you use alot of domestic long distance as it would vanish with Vonage (there's a slogan in there somewhere) but your neighbours would pay long distance to call you.
Good Luck. |

we here at teh forum dont' know when new num,ber wil be avail, there are a few Vonage reps around, but I doubt evn they know.. I imagine they go on number of requests they get for a certain exchange.. . if you call outbound alot then it is still worth it, or if you have a certain friend or family memmber in a town that is LD, that Vonage offers service in, you could get the service with their local exchange, then they could cal you locally.. is there a larger city that is local to Wallaceburg?
I just looked up where that was, lol, and I see it's near Windsor, I am actually very surprised they dont' hae service in Windsor, If that is local to you, i'd put in a request for windsor exchanges.. |

Alexander Graham Bell spent a lot of his life in Nova Scotia where he worked on building airplanes with the Wright Brothers. He also continued with telephone experiments in Nova Scotia. The first long distance call ever made was between Newfoundland (Signal Hill) and England.
We sure have come a long way since the 1800s. It is amazing how many things have been invented since electricity was harnessed. We are still at our infancy with this stuff. I'll bet that in another hundred years, you'll be able to walk into a plasma type TV and become part of the movie. You will have the ability to interact with the actors/actresses. Hmm, I wouldn't mind kissing Tom Welling. That's going to be cool. Phones will change more too. |

The first long distance call maybe, but the first call was placed between Brantford and Paris, Ontario. |
