Vonage received my existing number transfer authorization form on August 16th of last year. Since then, I have received numerous canned email messages that are useless. My calls to customer service, when I can get through, have resulted in promises of "escalation," management call backs, etc. To date, they have not been able to even describe what the hold-up is. I get lot's of "well, um, like, um, like you know, like um I don't know." They can't even tell me if the problem is with BellSouth or if it is Vonage's service provided.
I am wondering if I ought to just forget Vonage and try CallVantage or Time Warner? |

Dear August 16th,
I hear your pain. I am in the same boat, although I did not let it go as long as you did. I am waiting on hold for a Supervisor at Vonage right now. The call is going on 2 hrs. 16 mins as of right now, Thank God for speakerphone.
I have inquired with my local carrier to find out that no such request has been made yet and my dozens of inquires to Vonage and complaints are virtually unanswered so I am giving this supervisor one last chance to give me a deinate answer TODAY or I am cancelling. I can switch to DSL broadband for $14.99 per month which will end up costing about the same as Cable internet and Vonage service.
I thought that service was poor at my current/previous service provider! It certainly is better than with Vonage!!! Isn't it in their best interest to followup on these transfers very carefully? People will get impatient and tired of paying for 2 bills each month just as I am.
Forget that crap. I cannot stand being ignored when I have a question or concern. |

The last time I called customer (no) service, I was told a supervisor would call me back by the next day. That was several days ago... still waiting for that call. It was funny, the customer service rep promised that they would not send another useless email. At least they kept that promise.
Please report back if you are given a date or not. |

I wonder what the record is for the longest amount of time to port a number? I'm *only* a week or so over 7 months. I know there are others that went over 8 months. If I win, what's the prize? Right now, I'd settle for a call from Vonage telling me they are going to port my number. |

Last I heard they were giving out shirts and hats!
Are you getting credit from Vonage for those 7 months? I think they will do that for customers waiting over "20 business days" |

Yes, I have received credit. However, I am still paying BellSouth a ton of money and the reason I wanted to switch to Vonage was to reduce my monthly expense. |
