What happened to the announcement that was supposed to be made on March 21??

Did this subject go dead? Packet8 as posted above not only offers this, is cheaper but also offers me a number in my own area code and city! When I can finally get through to a Vonage rep. they can only read off a sheet in their notebook that says more features may be coming in the future and area codes are being added all the time. Yeah, right. I'll give it 1 more month then I'm going where the grass is greener. <Sigh>

Thank you for contacting Customer Care.

In response to your email, unfortunately at this time we do not have
Anonymous Caller ID block as a feature, but it is a feature we are
working on. I am not able to tell you when the feature will be
available either but we are working on it.

I do apologize for any inconvenience not having this feature is
causing you.

Thank you for choosing Vonage and should you need any further
assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Sincerely,

Simone
Customer Care Representative

I'm dumping Vonage in the next week or so. They have been telling me thay ACR was coming for 4 months, lies! I am moving to Packet8 or Lingo, not sure yet but they are both $5 cheaper and have better CS and more features.

Actually, what would be really nice is anonymous call straight to voicemail. That way, if it really is someone trying to get to you from behind some weird backwater phone company or corporate phone system (I know someone who used to live out in the boonies, and their phone company didn't provide any ID service), they can chatter at voicemail.

I've only ever had a telemarketer leave voice mail twice, in my life.

Heck, it would be nice if Vonage would just deliver what they promise!! How many months now have they been telling us it's "Just around the corner"? Yeah, just like my 541 area code. The Vonage motto seems to be, "What do you want to hear? We'll promise it's on the way."

ACR and call block would be fantastic features to add. I've seen third party software that does it, how can it be easier to do out it outside the loop rather than inside?

With primary season blooming here in Virginia you can add me to the list of people who are irked that Vonage has yet to deliver ACR.

I don't understand what kind of person actually listens to political prerecorded messages, much less ones delivered during dinner.

Being on the do not call list really eliminates this as an issue except for a few times a year when its campaign time or fundraising time.

PostPosted: Wed Jun 08, 2005 5:50 pm    Post subject: Impatiently Waiting for ACR Reply with quote Back to top

I have been a customer of Vonage for nearly two years now. I have called several times about the Anonymous Call Rejection, only to hear, "We will have it soon!"
About a month ago, I signed up with another Voip company, and called Vonage to disconnect. Vonage gave me FOUR months of free service to compare the services "side by side!"
The customer service representative issued the credits immediately, and I now show a negative balance on my account.
I prefer to keep the Vonage service... sound quality is a bit better, however I will wait for the free months to run out and if Vonage does not have ACR by then I will disconnect.
