Just tried the *95 thing on all 3 of my Vonage lines. Just got busy signals. I want specific call blocking more than auto call blocking. I have serveral telemarking companies I can't seem to get to stop. They phony their ID but never change it.

I don't always want to block numbers that show "unavailable" as the name but display a number. Most the cell calls I receive come through that way.

*95 won't work. It's #95. Try that, although I don't think it'll work for you, since they seem to have "turned it on" for their beta testers only.

#95 does not work for me so I think you are right, it must only be available to the beta testers.

I don't have the time or the desire to spend chasing silly lawsuits. Crap like that just clogs our legal system. All I want to do is block the calls, then I don't have to spend my time and attention to it at all.

The Federal Do Not Call List is helpful but not a cure. I'm still getting recorded calls from mortgage brokers, vacation timeshares and satellite TV dealers.

This is a clasic example where you should sue. Caling with prerecorded messages is strictly illegal. If you wont sue them please take the time to report them. If they are clearly using ilegal prerocorded messages then they most likely not using the do not call list anyway.

Where I agree my 500 to 2000 lawsuit might not discourage them the $10,000 on per violation from the goverment might cut into thier bottom line enough to get the point across.

I got sick of waiting for ACR and signed up with VoicePulse, which offers it. Their other privacy features are great, too. So far it's been a no-brainer. Only drawback is that VoicePulse gives you only 200 minutes on their $15 plan. Not a big deal for me...I'm not chatty and rarely go over 100 in a month.

Now I'm just waiting to see if Vonage puts up any resistance porting my number to VoicePulse and then canceling my account.

Wow, customized incoming caller ID, too. Vonage should take note of these features and implement them. If it weren't for the >$100 charges likely when leaving Vonage within the 1 year agreement and the fact that they can't port my number I'd probably bail for that service, too. It's little things like this that are going to set one VOIP provider apart from the others.

If I could find a company that offered call filtering and anonymous call rejection and had numbers in my area I would be outta here, but I can't seem to find any. I have gotten good service from vonage, but they keep telling me I will have a local number soon and that's been for months. I have one from a smaller city about an hour from here and check constantly for numbers for here. It looks like I'm pretty sol.
