Why are you protecting Vonage? They lied to me several times about ACR. Mad
Even if they are late in this area, at least Comcast has come to market with the complete package.
By the way, the Comcast price here is not 2, it is 25% more. Given the voicemail problems I have had with vonage and the lack of ACR, I don't think that is too much of a premium if it works...

I'm not protecting Vonage. Moreover, I'm a Comcast Internet customer. I just don't prefer to spend $44.95 per month to get their VoIP service (that's $20 more per month than Vonage's cost). To me, as much as I want ACR, I can't justify spending $20 more per month just to get it.

I am a Comcast cable and Internet customer as well and they have been calling me for months. They have just offered a 6 month 34.95 deal (after which it goes up - I know!) If I can make a point to vonage that some of us will leave because of bad service than I think it is worth it. I might come back if they can figure out this and my voicemail problem......

Well, I'm not criticizing you for wanting to leave Vonage. Nevertheless, at $34.95/mo. for 6 months--even if they renew it at that price--that's $60 more you're spending. If they renew it, this becomes $120 per year more in costs.

I'm not a miser, that's for sure, but right now, I personally have to save every penny I can.

Don't forget, Vonage will stick it to you when you leave and you will probably have number porting problems. That being said, I am totaly with you on the voice mail and ACR. Vonage is just too busy trying to set themselves up for their IPO then to take care of any customers that they already have. I feel sorry for whoever buys into this house of cards. I plan to stick around as long as the prices stay low but as soon as the "recovery fees" start to appear or the prices go up I'm outa here. That's the kind of loyalty not taking care of your existing customers buys you.

Has there been any updates as to when we can expect to see Anonymous Call Rejection added as a feature?

I've been a Vonage customer since August (three lines) Overall I am happy with the product and have had very few reasons to call Customer Service.

I did call and ask about Anonymous Call Rejection and got the "not available" message.

I'd like to see Vonage brag about their features as well as their advertising spend. ACR is well-entrenched in the legacy telecom market. Other posters indicate ACR can be had from other VoIP providers.

Competition is a sword that cuts both ways.

ACR, please. Pretty please with sugar on top?

Thanks,
Dave

I just got off the phone with a rep overseas, as usual. I've voiced my concern that three features of Vonage needs to become active for me to stay a customer. Anonymous calling is one of them. She told me that in 2 weeks I will see an email stating that this is a new free feature that we can enable.

This is my word. If this isn't enable I'm leaving vonage (PERIOD)

Well, don't hold your breath. If you browse through this forum you'll see that ACR/ACB has been "just around the corner" for about the last year or so.

And if this ACR is anything like what I've been beta testing, it's nothing to write home about.

As I've mentioned earlier, the ACR I'm beta testing blocks ONLY truly "private" callers, and inconsistently at that. It seems I have to "reactivate" the service periodically or it "shuts off." Furthermore, the "unknown" or "out of area" calls are NOT blocked. When I was with SBC, if a call was truly private or had "out of area"/"unknown" as both the name and number, it was blocked by SBC's Privacy Manager.
