Hope Someone has the same setup and can help. I have one pots line with DSL and Alcatel ADSL adapter (modem). I have a RT31P2 Linksys adapter. Both of my lines have a dial tone and I can dial out fine. Just when someone calls me the line2 (vontage line) does not ring. If you don't know how to make the 2420 ring, then can anyone give a suggestion on a 2 line phone that works with Vonage. My second problem is I have an Vontage 888 number and it goes almost immediately to voicemail after like one ring. I have been through customer no service and the hold times. Thanks for any help.

In order to help, I need more information on your configuration:

How many lines do you have with Vonage? Just one, plus a virtual toll-free number? If so, are you connecting a phone line from the Line 1 jack on the phone adapter to the Line 2 jack on your Siemens phone? Have you tried to connect the Vonage line to the Line 1 jack on your phone to see if it rings then? Have you tried a completly different phone?

If the above info doesn't work, you should call Vonage, stick out the long hold times, and ask them to increase your line voltage and ring voltage.

I would check your call forwarding settings from your dashboard (web account) - I don't have any ideas on this - Anyone else?

Hi

i dont know the answer to your issue but i can say that I think I have more or less the same system and setup. And everything works fine.

I have a Siemens 2420 bought in the USA. I am using it in the UK attached to a British Telecom Pots line (going to line 1) and a Linksys RT31P2. The line from the Linksys goes to Line 2 on the Siemens 2420 deskset. I only use 1 line on the Linksys.

Line 2 rings fine (so does line 1). Because the British always do everything differently here, caller id only works on line 2 (VOIP Linksys box), after I asked Vonage Tech support to configure it to the same caller ID std as a US phone would expect to receive. However the phone always rang.

You might want tech support to make sure the Linksys box is configured correctly.

This maybe too obivious, but since you can make outgoing calls are you dailing your virtual# and not your # to be ported?
