I am 36 business days into the transfer process. Vonage telling me that AT&T is not providing the transfer date, so I called AT&T.

AT&T told me they resell Verizon local service and Verizon is responsible for the number transfer in NJ.

This forum has been great with suggestions and ideas. I have tried all of them from cc'ing Jeffrey Citron, letter to the FCC, calls or emails every other day since day 20. My Executive Response Team Ed Banaag, who I have never spoke to and BTW no one else has either at Vonage, reassures me that it will get done.

January 21, 2005 Transfer Sent to Carrier

Is it possible to get an AT&T NJ number transferred?

I've been wondering the same thing.. I have only started my LNP on Feb 25th.

February 25, 2005 Awaiting Letter of Authorization
February 27, 2005 Letter of Authorization (LOA) Received
February 27, 2005 Transfer Sent to Carrier

I e-mailed ATT yesterday:

Hi. I have requested my number be ported over
to a new provider (Vonage) I am writing to check the status of my LNP and to check if you have received the request to port the number over, and see if there was a transfer date in
the works. Thanks!

And here is what i received today:

Thank you for contacting AT&T Local Service.

I have reviewed our records and do not find an order to port your
service to Vonage. I am unable to provide status of your order with
another company. Please contact Vonage directly to determine the
completion date for your change.

I know i haven't waited my time yet, but i was checking to see if ATT actually had received the request, and if they had any info, which they did not..

Let me know how you make out..

Vonage can port AT&T NJ numbers. 38 business days later it's done.

January 19, 2005 Awaiting Letter of Authorization
January 21, 2005 Letter of Authorization (LOA) Received
January 21, 2005 Transfer Sent to Carrier
March 15, 2005 Carrier Approved Transfer

Transfer Date: March 16, 2005

IMHO 2 very recent actions made this happen.

1. Called Customer Service COB day 35 and spoke with Danley and informed her I was cancelling. She requested another 48 hours to make it right and then she credited my account 1 month. Vonage: Danley deserves a raise.

2. Coincidence, you decide; this was my first post to any forum and the next day I received the transfer date.

Thanks Danley and Vonage Voip Forum.
