Just curious what Vonage's position on this is. I can't wait 45 minutes on the phone waiting for them to answer the question, so just wondering if I can request a replacement of the D version of the router? Anyone heard from Vonage on this issue? |

yes, you can... just tell them about the background noise you are having... it's a known issue with the older versions. however, to be honest, i still hear 'some' noise with my new adapter... but i think it seems better than the older one. |

No noise when I'm dialing or in a call - phone works fine. I'm still having the disconnect issues though.
I transfer a lot of files / data back and forth to work, and do a lot of remote-control after hours. It seems during consistent load, the connection drops and I have to reconnect after a couple minutes.
I'm considering putting a Linksys router (WRT54GS) in front of the phone adapter to see if that helps. That way I'd at least get a true QoS (assuming FW upgrade) and have some more advanced features for monitoring, etc. |
My disconnect issues have been resolved by installing a WRT54GS as my gateway router, and putting the RT31P2 behind it. Call quality is fine, and QoS on the WRT54GS seems to do it's job quite well.
I don't feel this is a solution, since I shouldn't have to buy additional hardware to make my internet connection reliable, but at least it works. |
