OK here my horror story.
All has been well for 3 months. Then yesterday we lose dial tone.
So I go thru the usual steps with all the rebooting and what not, still nothing.

Then I save my config and reset the Linksys RT31P2 and reload my config and still no dial tone.
The only thing I see is the phone line 1 is lit all the time.

2 things:

Who knows the factory reset password

Can you simply buy a new unit and activate that to your account


And WHY is tech support so weak...........that is crazy 60 Min wait for a dude to call you back..... by the way I am still waiting for my call back.

according to the linksys manual, the password is set by Vonage, and I've never seen it given out here.
you can buy a new device and activate it to your account, but it still requires a call.
that's pretty weird that phone1 is lit but you don't have a dial tone. have you tried a different phone? and confirmed it's plugged into 1 and not 2 in the back. what do you have under Status for lines at http://192.168.15.1

Try searching the forum. The reset password is posted here somewhere. user name is "user" is a string of i believe 6 number. I was able to find it once after a greuling search so it's here somewhere. But i can't find it among my notes. So if you find it and you don't mind posting it again that would be great.

This worked for me I have the RT31P2 the factory reset username: user Pass: 8995523




Does any one know how to change the voice serversfrom Vonage to someone else

The same thing happened to me yesterday and now today I am getting dropped calls and calls are being crossed.
