I wonder... would it be possible to setup a softphone to use my own piece of hardware ATA? Like say an asterisk system? |

you would be suprised what you can do with an Asterisk system. I have a friend who is a VOIP professional and expert. He REALLY knows complex VOIP options. His AOL IM name is : IMCDONA. He is also on Broadbandreports.com VOIP forum as IMCDONA... get with him.. just tell him Redstepchild sent ya! He used to be my roomate. |

I wanted you all to know that I was talking on my PDA for free in the grocery store SAturday. Vonage's 9.99 softphone line has UNLIMITED incoming and 500 minutes outgoing for 9.99. You wouldn't believe the amount of unsecured WIFI Hotspots there are for the sniffing. |

this may be a dumb question, but do I buy the pocket pc softphone from xten, then "buy" a number from Vonage? |

How is the call quality of the Xten pocket PC when you're on WI-FI? |

How fast can you get connected to that wi-fi hot spot with that pocket pc? And then do you just call up that icon for the xten phone? Do you use a mic and an earbud?
And how good is the connection and what happens when the level of connection to the wifi fluctuates?

Has anyone actually gotten this to work? I have been trying for days and keep getting loggin failed or 404 and 408 errors
CAN I USE MY HX4700 WITH MY XTEN SOFTPHONE AND MY VONAGE ACCOUNT?
The support from both Vonage and Xten is HORRIBLE on this subject.
Please help if you have figured this mess out. |
