Post subject: Pocket PC and Softphone
I got it to work on a HP iPAQ rx1955. The other parties voice is a little choppy but overall...well it works.
For the softphone software...

Post subject: Connect over evdo rev a?
I was wondering if there was a way to do all this thru out cell phone data plans. Here would be an example. Connect to your home LAN via mobile phone data plan service. Use some software to communicate with your ata and send call out thru your home ISP?

Post subject: It is a waste of time. Pocket PC
You can play around with it if you have another phone and the money to waste, but the technology (hardware) with Pocket PC's that have wifi is not ideal as a phone.
I finally accepted that a Pocket PC will not work as a portable phone and I went back to a cell phone. It seemed like a innovative idea but it will not work as a phone.
As for the data plan I have no idea.
