Does anyone know what type of antenna connector is on the Linksys WRT54GP2? I sent a 9dBi high-gain Omni antenna with RP-TNC connector to a friend in Mexico and he is telling me it does not fit. I assumed it was RP-TNC like most other Linksys products.
Is it RP-SMA? Does anyone know? I have searched all over the web and been unable to find this info. |

Thanks. I can't find anything that specifically says that unit has the R-SMA connector. I guess you are assuming that since Linksys sells two different antennae, and it's not RP-TNC, that it must be R-SMA? I was hoping someone out there knew definitively what type of connector the unit has. It is very expensive to ship things to Mexico, so I wanted to make sure it was right this time. |

Actually, I own a WRT54GP2 and that is the correct antenna.

OK, thanks.
I am not using the Linksys high gain antenna, so that's probably where we got confused. I am using a much higher gain antenna than that. |

According to a Livechat I just had with Linksys support, the WRT54GP2's firmware does not support high-gain aerials
Is this rubbish or will I waste my money purchasing one ? |

I am not sure what the firmware would have to do with the antenna. (unless you need to boost the output power) |
